Hi there and a very warm welcome to my page.

I'm Kathy and I'm looking to build a community of followers to share my writing journey with me. After filling pages with many poems and song lyrics, I am now going to share these with the world.

Based in Lincolnshire, UK, I am fortunate to live in a place which has many underrated beautiful landscapes ( and no, it is not all flat!).

I am currently studying for a BA in English Literature with the Open University and work in Education with children that have additional needs. Previously I worked in the Funeral industry (during the pandemic, ouch!) and dabbled with accountancy in my twenties, so you might say my change of career paths is rather eclectic!

My writing is mainly Free Verse and based on my life experiences both past and present and I will be exploring how as humans we cope and grow as a result of good and bad periods of our lives. I am open when talking about my struggles with mental health and some of these themes will appear within my writing. I hope that my followers may find enjoyment and maybe some deeper understanding of how others think and feel when times are tough (and good!). It may even resonate with your life right now and offer you a reassurance that you are not alone with how you feel.

Long term, I am aiming to get my writing published in the public domain, so I will be sharing my experience with that process, which may make for some interesting results! I welcome any advice and experience of this from fellow writers, I expect it may be brutal, but we shall see!
